Material Donations

We appreciate any donations you are able to give to the library.

We accept materials in good condition that are gently used and are not dusty, damaged, or bug infested. Here are some guidelines:

1. Books: We accept both fiction and nonfiction materials.
2. Paperbacks: We accept those in good condition without yellowed pages or damage.
3. Magazines: We accept all current magazines (current month plus the last 3 months). Please remove address labels before donating.
4. Specialty Magazines: We accept all issues. Examples of specialty magazines are Oprah, Martha Stewart, craft magazines, etc. Please remove address labels before donating.
5. Arizona Highways & Architectural Digest: We accept all issues.
6. National Geographic: We accept issues before 1960 or issues from 2000 to the present.
7. Media: We accept CDs, DVDs, computer games and software.

All donations are placed for sale in the Library Shops at all locations or via third party vendors generating revenue to supplement library programs and services. The funds raised are put into a special account that is administered by the Library Director. If you have questions, please call 480-312-READ.

Gift and Memorial Donations

Celebrate a birthday or simply say thank you. Gift and memorial donations of $25 or more will be marked with a bookplate naming your special honoree. A memorial gift enriches the lives of those who use the library and is a lasting and thoughtful way to honor a loved one or a special person. Please use our online form for your gift or memorial donation to mail in or drop off to your nearest Scottsdale Public Library.

Endowments

Ask about our Gift of Life endowment fund. From gifts as simple as the donation of a personal book collection to monetary gifts, your thoughtful planning today helps ensure the enrichment of our library tomorrow.
