Outreach

Literacy Links Volunteer
How would you like to bring books and literacy activities to preschool children in Scottsdale? Join the library’s Literacy Links program where volunteers present monthly book talks at city preschools and child care centers. You will bring a box of 25 – 50 picture books and a set a literacy activities and will present a storytime where you will share your excitement and enthusiasm of children’s picture books. You must be able to provide your own transportation and give a one year commitment of working with at least one preschool site. Training will be provided.

Bilingual Storytime Presenter
We are looking for bilingual adults who speak Spanish to help with children's programs at Paiute Neighborhood Center. If you like working with children 0-6 years of age this is a great job for you. All training will be provided.

ESL Instructor
We are looking for volunteer help to teach English as a second language. Certification and/or similar previous instruction is required. Classes are currently held on Saturdays at 11 am but scheduling could be flexible.

Spanish/English Social Conversational Group Leader
We are looking for volunteer help to assist leading our bilingual conversational group. This is a fun social program that runs in the Spring and Fall for Spanish speakers to practice English and English speakers to practice Spanish.

We are looking for volunteers to help greet and assist customers with directional questions and help monitor the library. These are afternoon shifts during the week and will involve working closely with teens and children.
