New Year…new Mustang!Rita Hamilton, Library Director

Welcome to 2009. With all the interesting things happening in our world these days I am sure this year will be memorable.  Hopefully the memories will be good ones. For 2009, I am dedicated to reading some great books, spending time with friends and enjoying the great outdoor spaces Scottsdale has to offer.  Make sure you stop by and check out our renovated Mustang Library. It looks great and even boasts a drive-through window for book pick-up.

Everyone loves
a good book…

Get out and about with your preschooler. Story times designed for kids ages 4 and 5 take place at all of our library branches. We have story times for families too.

Check out the schedule here.

Storytime in progress

Truman who?

Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's

So you floated through high school English class on the wings of Cliffs Notes and figured that you really did not need to read THAT book. However, fast forward into your more mature years, and low and behold, you wish you had read THAT book. Join our very jovial librarian Marian Reisman for a book discussion of Capote’s (yes, Truman Capote) Breakfast at Tiffany’s Wed. Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. (Civic Center)
*Next month To Kill a Mockingbird (Hint: It's not really about birds)

Car troubles?
The library is here to help.

No our staff won’t be offering oil changes…but check out our spiffy
Auto Repair Reference Center.  Find repair and recall information whether you have a 1963 Ford Club Wagon or a 2008 Lexus RX 350. Very useful…you could also make sure your mechanic is not making things up.

Who are these guys?

Cowboys and Images

Images and woodcuts from Scottsdale's famous Cattle Track compound located at CattleTrack Dr. (aka Miller Rd) between McDonald and Lincoln Drives. The Cattle Track complex is historically significant for its association with Scottsdale's agricultural past and, even most importantly, to themes associated with art and architecture. More about Cattle Track and Scottsdale's history check out our photo collection and
our Scottsdale Room (located at Civic Center).
