Confidentiality of Library Records
The Scottsdale Public Library is required by law (A.R.S. 41-1354) to not disclose any record or information that identifies a user of library services.

Fines & Fees
In accordance with Scottsdale Revised Code, § 20-20, all cardholders are responsible for materials borrowed on their card. The following policy outlines the daily fines for overdue materials, fees for damaged or lost items, and procedures for delinquent accounts.

Free Speech Activity
Members of the public are welcome to use exterior areas around library buildings for free speech activity, subject to the City’s regulations as to time, place, and manner of use. This policy includes diagrams of the designated free speech areas at the Civic Center, Mustang and Arabian Libraries.

Library Cards
Library cards are issued free to Scottsdale residents, visitors, and residents of Maricopa County. Permanent non-residents of Maricopa County are eligible for a Scottsdale Public Library card upon payment of a biannual fee of $20.

It is the policy of the Scottsdale Public Library System to maintain a safe environment in all library facilities. Our goal is to provide a positive experience where all library users are ensured open access to library services and programs.
