ILL is a service allowing library items or a photocopy to be made available from one library to another, according to the policies of the American Library Association. Interlibrary Loan of books, articles, microfilm and genealogy materials is available to any Scottsdale Library card holder. Please note that it may take from three to eight weeks to receive your item through ILL. Most items can be picked up at any Scottsdale Public Library location. Microfilm can be used at the Civic Center Library only. The following materials may not be requested via ILL:
- bestselling book with current-year publication date
- media (i.e. videos, CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, cassettes)
- reference books
- entire issue of a periodical (unless in microform)
- materials from libraries outside of the United States
- anything already owned by the Scottsdale Libraries
Fees and Charges Scottsdale Public Library does not charge for interlibrary loan services and is able to fill most requests through other non-charging libraries. Some libraries, however, do charge fees ranging from $5 to $20. These costs are passed on to the borrower. |
