Volunteers are an essential part of our daily operations. If you are interested in volunteering your time and talents, we would love to hear from you. Volunteer applications are available at each of our libraries.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Customer Service for Book Corral
Location: Palomino Library
Work in the library's used book and gift sale area. There are a variety of shifts available but we especially need help on Fridays and Saturdays. For more information, please call Jeanette Frantz at (480) 312-6101.

Pulling Requests
Location: Palomino Library
There are both morning and afternoon shifts available to help pull materials from our shelves that have been requested by our customers. For more information, please call Jeanette Frantz at (480) 312-6101.

Merchandiser
Location: Palomino Library
Are you artistic?? Help us merchandise our library collection by spotlighting our new books and best sellers. All training will be provided. For more information, please call Jeanette Frantz at (480) 312-6101.

Film Host
Location: Palomino Library
We are looking for volunteers to assist staff with the room setup, greeting customers and helping after the movies to move chairs back into place. The time commitment would be the 2nd Friday of each month from approximately 5:30 - 8:15 pm. (Movies all start at 6:10 pm.) For more information, please call Jeanette Frantz at (480) 312-6101.

Triage / Customer Service
Location: Mustang Library
Work side by side with staff helping assist our customers. There are a variety of shifts and extensive training will be provided. Volunteers must be able to stand and walk for entire shift which average 2 hours. For more information, please call Deena Harms at (480) 312-6016.

Media
Location: Mustang Library
Help staff with checking all returned media and shelving. There are a variety of shifts available and training will be provided. For more information, please call Deena Harms at (480) 312-6016.





ReVentures is a new program designed specifically for individuals born between 1946 and 1964--the "boomers" age group. The ReVentures program invites boomers to utilize their professional skill sets in innovative ways throughout the Library system.

New opportunities are being developed for volunteers who might be interested in:

  • Working with children
  • Starting new services
  • Planning public programs
  • Partnering with community organizations
